Ellie's Rock Party!

Ellie had a rock star party for her 6th Birthday. We stole the idea from Kaleigh who had recently had her own rock party. We borrowed Kaleigh's stage that was lovingly made by Papa and Uncle Danny and we borrowed Grandma Candice's Karaoke machine. The weather was really nice, so the party was held out in our backyard. The guests all came dressed up as rock stars and ready to sing.

Kaleigh was the bouncer and made sure only people that were invited came to the party. She made them back stage passes that would allow them into the party area. Here Kaleigh is checking the guest list.

The girls sang and danced their hearts out. We also provided them with a hula-hoop contest and musical chairs.

No More Training Wheels!

Today Ellie started riding her bike without training wheels. She didn't even have to learn... she just got on the bike and took off. I had been trying to get her to take of her training wheels for a few months, but she has been too scared. When I pointed out that all her friends didn't have training wheels on their bikes she told me that they were all six and that she was only five. I decided that she had a valid point and told her we would wait until she was six. So tonight as we were outside with our neighbors Ellie looked at her friend's bike and asked if she could try it. My neighbor held the bike while Ellie got on it and gave her a little push.... and off she went. She didn't even wobble. And guess what she said to me... that she could ride a two wheeler and that she was not six. She was very proud of herself and I was proud that she got over her fear of riding without training wheels.

First Day of the First Grade!

Today was Ellie's first day of the First Grade. Ellie was both excited and nervous to go to school. She loved Kindergarten and wanted to go back to her old class with her old teacher. I told her that her new teacher was going to be really nice and that she would already know some of the kids in her new class. When we got to her class we met her teacher, Mrs. Wolfe and we found her desk. Ellie was excited that she already knew the little boy that she was sitting next to. After I took a few pictures I left her.... and I was very glad to see that she was smiling. When I picked her up from school she was still smiling. She had decided that first grade was fun and that her teacher was really nice. The best thing about her day? Recess! Of course that is probably every first grader's answer. I can't believe my little girl is in the first grade!

Ellie Lost Her First Tooth!

This tooth has been loose forever!!! And Ellie has refused to let anyone pull it out. Last night I wiggled it and was going to try and pull it, but Ellie got wise to me and ran away. So this morning I told her to let Daddy have a look at it and...... He pulled it! Finally it is gone! She was so shocked that her Daddy pulled it, but quickly forgave him since it didn't hurt. Then she became so excited that she had to call everyone just to let them know. And do you know what the common response she received was.... It's about time! Now she gets to put it under her pillow and see what the Tooth Fairy will bring!

Go Ellie, Go!!!

This year we decided to sign Ellie up for T-Ball. It was her first time playing and she loved it! These are a few of the pictures I took at her games.

The Yankees

Ellie and her friend Mason got to be on the same team. I love this picture. Ellie had just hit the ball without using the T and was very proud of herself. She waited till she was on first base before she turned to me and started yelling, " I hit the ball! Mommy I hit the ball!"

And here are a few more pictures of Ellie in action....

Ellie is very sad that T-ball is over and keeps asking me why it has to be over..... I'm glad she had fun playing. And the next sport for her to try..... SOCCER!
