Pismo

At the Campsite
Breanna made matching shirts for the kids.
Breakfast Time! Danny and Brian were Breakfast makin' fools!

Scooter Time!
Ellie got a new scooter to take camping. Of course she picked out a pink one!

Nature Walk
Grandma Candice took all the kids on a walk. She is the nature Queen!
She told us the names of trees and flowers, just like when
I was little! But we had to get outsider information on the
difference between a lagoon and lake! What Fun!

Free Manicure's
Who knew you could receive this kind of treatment while camping.
Ellie and Kaleigh received an invite to get a manicure at another
campsite. They loved their manicures... even if it was interrupted
by a water balloon fight.

Eating Chocolate Covered Scorpions!!!
Yes that is an actual scorpion covered in chocolate inside that bag! What did they taste like? MMMmmm.... a Kit Kat!

Beach Time
Where are Sam's Legs?
Myrl came to visit for the day. Just like Old Times.

It started with camping once a year at New Brighton Beach for as far back as I can remember. Then one year we went to Pismo... my family had gotten quads and quads need the Pismo Dunes! We have been camping at Pismo every summer for about 8 years, maybe 9. It's our family tradition and it is probably one of my favorite traditions. I love to camp, I love the ocean, and I love spending time with my family. What more could you ask for?

Gone Fishing.....

On Monday the 13th we left for Monterrey to go camping and deep sea fishing. We went earlier than everyone else and found a great campsite. The campground we stayed in was small and quiet. Greg, Diane, Adam, Sandy, Ethan, and Shane met us there a few hours later. We stayed two nights. We had a lot of fun camping, fishing and playing. The best part was cooking some of the fish for dinner on Tuesday night. It was DELICIOUS!

Brian and I on the boat.
I was the only first timer of the group, everyone else had been deep sea fishing before. Sandy and I kicked butt! We had the best luck! Brian got sick towards the end and quit fishing for a little while, but came back strong after her felt better. Adam caught a few fish before he got real sick and ended up staying in the cabin the rest of the time. Greg kept catching little bitty fish, but finally started catching bigger ones at the end. We went home with our limit, which was 10 fish per a person! 50 fish!
Sandy, Joel, Brian and Don after a great day of fishing! Don and Joel Fowler decided to join us on the fishing trip when they heard we were going.

Brian and Greg.

This was my first catch of the day and my Biggest!

This guy was awesome! He helped me out a lot! He also flayed our fish for us on our way back. He just stood their cutting up the fish without ever swaying! While the rest of us had a difficult time walking around! This is mine and Brian's pile of fish.

The Fisherman's Wharf

Eileen and Nick met us Monday night and went to dinner with us at the Wharf. Nick knows the owner of the Old Fisherman's Grotto, so we went there for some Clam Chowder. We ended up getting free appetizer's because of Nick, which was yummy calamari and artichoke!

All the girls received yellow roses when they left the restaurant.

Playing on the Pirate ship.

The beach

Before we left for home on Wednesday. Brian and I decided to take Ellie and Tanner to the beach to play. The weather was great! It was a bit chilly, but it sure beat the horrible heat that we were heading back to!

We had FUN, FUN, FUN...Till her mommy came and took her AWAY!!!

We had the privilege of having Kaleigh spend 3 night with us this week. We got her Monday evening and she left us today when her mother... along with her cohort that consisted of a Grandma, an Aunt and 3 nephews came and took her home. Ellie and Kaleigh had a blast! They got to stay up late, go to the park, play the Wii, paint, swim, play dolls, watch movies, and play with play dough. Hip Hip Hooray for having family close by!!!

Kaleigh and Ellie having fun at the park.

Playing the Wii

Swimming... which then led to an extra long bath time!

Their new Sleeping Beauty Dolls

Painting... They painted a whole coloring book!!!

It sure was fun having Kaleigh come and stay with us! She is such a beautiful and fun girl to be around! I enjoy how much they love to be around each other. Ellie was a lot less stubborn with Kaleigh around. When it came time to get her hair fixed I didn't have to argue with her because she wanted to be first! And Kaleigh is such a delight and We love her! Thanks for coming to our house Kaleigh!

Our Bike Riding Adventure

Today we set off on a Bike riding adventure. We put Tanner and Ellie in the bike trailer and headed out at about 10:00 this morning. Our first stop was the post office... not too interesting, but we met a man with a cool bike as we waited outside for Brian. Then we headed off to our next destination.... Park #1. We Stopped and let Ellie and Tanner play for awhile. They were having tons of fun, but I thought it would be fun to go check out the newly opened park down the street. So off we went to our next destination.... Park #2. It turned out to be a great idea! The park was really fun! Ellie thought it was the greatest park ever and Tanner, well Tanner could care less.... a park is a park to him. After being at Park #2 for over an hour it was time for lunch. We decided to head to our next destination... Taco Bell! It was nice and cool inside Taco Bell, we hadn't expected to take such a long adventure, and it was getting hot! After lunch we decided to head to our final destination.... Home! By the time we got home it was almost 1:00... Tanner's nap time! We had lots of fun... maybe next time we will go to different parks! It is so nice to have the bike trail so close to our house and I am so happy that I now have a bike trailer to pull Tanner around in... and if we want to take an extra long bike ride Ellie can ride in it too!
