This is what happens when Tanner gets a hold of a hose...... he makes mud.

I love how Caden and Tanner are completely covered from head to toe! Of course I wasn't there to clean any of it up. That part was left for Breanna.... I think she did a lovely job!

Tanner's 3rd Birthday Party!

Tanner's Birthday Party turned out to be a BLAST! We had a water slide, a slip-n-slide, a trampoline, a pinata, and best of all........ We had CUPCAKES!

I love the concentration on Tanner's face.... let's hope he's not always so interested in fire.

Tanner Turns Three!

It's crazy how fast they grow... it was only three years ago today that Tanner was born. He was 8lbs. 3oz. and now he is over 30lbs! He is my wild man and I love him so much! Tanner may look sweet, but don't let him fool you. He can be devious!

I asked Tanner how old he was and he sat there trying to put up three fingers. It took a little bit of concentration, but he got it.

I'm not sure what the look above is all about, but I think it's pretty funny. He loves to give me a hard time when I am taking pictures of him. I had to take tons of pictures to get some that didn't have him making funny faces.

Tanner and Tractors

My man Tanner loves tractors!! And we have seen tons of them lately. Everyday as we drop Ellie off or pick her up from school we drive right past them. I even leave the house extra early to go pick up Ellie just so I can park down by tractors and let Tanner watch them. He could probably sit there all day and watch them..... amazingly he sits STILL for the whole time that we are there! I'm not sure what they are getting the field ready for, but I hope it takes them a while to do what they're doing because we are having too much fun watching them work!

One night I walked in to the kid's room to see Tanner sleeping like this.... Since than I have noticed that this is one of his favorite sleeping positions. I just think he looks so relaxed and it's not often that I get to see this little guy motionless. This picture was taken 12/6/09

Pretty, Pretty Princess

Once upon a time there was a pretty, pretty princess named Ellie. She loved all things pretty...
pretty dresses, pretty bows, pretty shoes...
One day the pretty princess was adorning herself with pretty things when along came...

A little boy.
This was no ordinary little boy... this little boy liked to feel pretty. He became tired of only having a diaper to wear, so he went in search of the pretty, pretty princess. The kind Princess let him choose a few pretty items from her pretty princess clothing. He chose a pretty purple skirt and pretty flowered shoes.

The little boy was so excited to cover up his unsightly diaper that he gave the pretty princess a pretty huge hug to show his appreciation.

From that moment on ( well maybe it was only 30 minutes) The little boy and the pretty, pretty princess played pretty games and had a pretty good time.

And they lived prettily ever after.

Tanner's Birthday- Part 2

Today we had cake and ice-cream for the rest of the family. I was informed that Kaleigh, along with Brendan and Ethan were a little disappointed that I was having the party at my house. I guess they felt a little cheated since last year we celebrated at the water park. But we did have water... not very much, but it would have to do. The kids went swimming... It was pretty crazy seeing all them packed in there, especially considering how small our pool is! After drinking too much water, Tanner got taken out of the pool . Being banned from the pool made the Birthday Boy very unhappy. He started going around to everyone and saying "peas, peas" (which means please in Tanner Talk) for someone to put him back in the pool. Finally he convinced Grandma Candice to let him back in. He was very happy, plus he didn't have to worry about drinking anymore water because most of it had been transfred to the outside of the pool from all the crazy splashing! After everyone got done swimming we had cake and ice cream, which was yummy and then Tanner opened his presents! Everyone had fun, I guess it was an OK party after all!

Tanner kept trying to blow the candles out the whole time we were singing Happy Birthday, but he just wasn't blowing hard enough. He was so excited when the candles were finally blown out.

He needed two spoons to properly eat his cake and ice cream.

Happy Birthday Tanner!

Today Tanner turned two years old! It is amazing how fast they grow! We celebrated by taking him the Zoobilation event at the zoo. Grandma and Grandpa Humann, Uncle Chad, Uncle Adam, Aunt Sandy, Ethan and Shane came with us. We began the evening by having cupcakes outside the zoo. Tanner started clapping when we sang Happy Birthday and he blew out the candle like he was a pro! Once inside the zoo we headed for the Winged Wonder Bird Show, stopping to see the animals along the way. Tanner was running from one animal habitat to the next. He loved being free, thanks to Grandma Diane I did not have to run after him... because she was right up there running with him. The bird show was great, as always, and Tanner actually paid attention to the birds this time. He kept pointing and laughing as the birds flew over our heads. After the show we decided to head over to a behind the scenes event with the Elephants. On our way over there was a zoo worker holding a snake letting people pet it. Ellie hid behind grandma, but Ethan was brave and pet the snake, which he said felt soft. Chad then took Tanner over who instead of petting the snake tried to hit it. The gentleman holding the snake took Tanners hand and showed him how to be gentle. Tanner was all smiles. When we got to the Elephants we had to stand in line for a bit, but we got to see the crocodile while we were waiting. It was very interesting to go behind the scenes of the Elephant Habitat. They showed us where they did research, where they did physical therapy and health checkups. They even showed us a beautiful book, with lovely paper that was made from (believe it or not) elephant poop. Yup, that's right, Elephant Poop! We also got to throw apple slices to the Elephants so they could eat them. Tanner loves to throw things, so it was a good activity for him. Ellie thought that throwing the apple slices was a little scary, but Ethan thought it was great. Of course we stopped by stingray bay. Tanner tried to touch them, but his arms couldn't quite reach them this time... Ellie kept pulling her hands up when they got close. The last thing we did before we left the zoo was go and feed the Giraffes. It was really fun, I never really had a desire to go near one, but I would do it again. Again Tanner was all smiles and Ellie, well she was... she was Brave TOO! She wouldn't throw apples at the Elephants but she would let the Giraffes long ugly tongue grab leaves out of her hand! One of the Giraffes kept licking Tanners head and he just smiled and hugged Grandma Diane. We had a really great time! I would definitely go to the Zoobilation again!
